Because women are often excluded from informal networks by which their male colleagues acquire information critical to successful professional development, alternative means must be sought. One way is to provide structured programs for women that provide the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve personal and professional effectiveness. Another way is to ensure that women have knowledge of and access to general leadership and professional development training programs.
